Crisis Management for Schools

Schools occasionally encounter unforeseen crises, such as a tragedy within the community or the passing of a student. Susan will collaborate closely with you to develop customized plans designed specifically for both crisis prevention and effective crisis intervention.

Crisis Prevention

Working collaboratively with the school, Susan can effectively identify critical issues that may negatively impact the students, including eating disorders and suicidal thoughts. After these important concerns have been recognized,

Susan will develop comprehensive policies and procedures and implement targeted staff training programs designed to address and prevent these issues from escalating into serious crises.

Crisis Intervention

Because of Susan's unique and thoughtful approach to strategy, combined with the strong ethical principles she upholds as a trained social worker, she has become highly respected and sought after by Canada’s leading institutions to effectively manage and resolve major crises.

In the event of a crisis, Susan will carefully design a tailor-made plan that is specifically based on the unique nature of the trauma and the particular needs of the affected community.

She will be readily available on-site to thoroughly assess the institutional needs and circumstances and is prepared to provide both individual and group counselling sessions.

Depending on the specifics and severity of the crisis, Susan has established access to a wide range of health professionals and, if necessary, will promptly call upon these experts to offer additional support and resources.

Once the immediate crisis has been successfully defused, Susan will conduct a thorough debriefing with the school staff, providing a detailed overview of the situation and offering thoughtful recommendations for any necessary future support or intervention, should it be required.
