Susan Leventhal

Susan Leventhal is a Toronto-based psychotherapist with a unique depth and range of expertise. She works with individuals, couples, families, schools, and businesses. With extensive training and many years of experience in individual, marital, and family therapy, combined with her strong background in social work, Susan embraces a whole-person approach.

She carefully explores not only the individuals themselves but also the complex and dynamic relationships they have with those around them. This comprehensive and holistic perspective enables her to identify the unique challenges people are facing and to create personalized, tailor-made solutions for their specific needs.

Susan’s goal is to transition you out of therapy by equipping you with the tools you need to face your challenges; tools that are uniquely tailored to your issues and abilities.

Susan is a Registered Social Worker who holds both a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW-McMaster University) and a Master of Social Work (MSW-University of Toronto).

She has received extensive and specialized training in various therapeutic approaches, including family therapy, marital therapy, mediation, as well as child and adolescent therapy.

Her comprehensive education and practical experience enable her to effectively support individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of challenges.

Susan has been in private practice since 1987. Prior to this she held administrative, clinical and teaching positions within the Adolescent Psychiatry division of Sunnybrook Medical Centre(Toronto) and the Thistletown Regional Centre for Children and Adolescents.

Her accomplishments with multi-challenged families at the Children's Aid Society of Metropolitan Toronto were valuable in the formulation of the creative approaches she employs today.
